| | | | | 对翻译作为英语能力测试手段的分析与思考 | | | 庄起敏 | | | 随着人们对语言本质认识的进步,翻译在教学中再次被广泛地用作外语能力的测试手段。分析我国现行有代表性的三种英语测试中的翻译题可以发现：翻译不仅被用来测试翻译能力,而且也被用来测试对语法、词汇等语言结构的阅读理解和书面表达等语言能力。要运用好翻译题的这种多重测试功能,必须在明确测试目的的前提下,以现代测试理论为指导,科学地设计翻译试题。

在外语教学中，运用适当的形式或手段对学习者的外语能力进行测试是不可或缺的一个环节。纵观我国的英语教学实践，翻译曾被作为主要教学目标与测试手段。上世纪so年代起，大型水平测试开始兴起。由于这种测试规模大，风险高，对测试信度①要求高，所以大规模采用客观题型以保证信度;主观型试题(如翻译)虽效度②好，但由于评分等原因，信度难以得到保障。近年来，随着我国外语教学水平的提高以及改革开放的深化，社会对学习者的外语能力，尤其是交际能力和双语能力提出了更高的要求，翻译等主观题又重新应用于各类英语水平考试之中。例如，… | | |  推荐 CAJ下载  PDF下载 | | | CAJViewer7.0阅读器支持所有CNKI文件格式，AdobeReader仅支持PDF格式 | | | | An analysis of translation as a means to reflect foreign language ability | | | Zhuang Qimin | | | In the context that modern linguistics has contributed to a better understanding of the essence of language, translation as a means to reflect foreign language ability is once again being widely employed in language tests after years of being shelved.A detailed analysis of three representative foreign language tests currently popular in China re- veals the fact that translation is not only adopt.ed to assess translating performance but also to evaluate such language abilities as reading comprehension,writing competence as well as knowledge of grammatical and lexical structures. Effective applidation of translation for this multi-purpose testing function,however,calls for a scientific design of translation testing items based on the clear understanding of the testing purpose with the help of modern testing theo- ries.
