| | | | | 二语词汇习得途径探究 | | | 寻明 | | | 本文首先概述了二语教学中“阅读是词汇习得的主要途径”观点的四个基本假设,即“注意”假设、“猜测能力”假设、“猜测→记忆”假设和“累积获得”假设;然后列举了反驳这些假设的有关研究;最后介绍了比较纯粹阅读、附带词汇习得的阅读和以词汇为中心的学习任务对词汇习得不同效果的实证研究。总结出的结论是:在二语环境中,纯粹的阅读并不能成为词汇习得的最重要途径;而无论是否附带阅读,以词汇为中心的任务都起着非常重要的作用。

引言 在母语学习中，阅读被认为是词汇习得 的主要途径。研究表明，儿童词汇增长最快 的时期是在获得读写能力后，特别是小学和 中学。在这段时期内，他们每年大约读一百 万个词(Anderson et al 1988)。“通过阅读习 得词汇”(vocabul脚through readi嗯)，或“非 教学性”(uninstructed)词汇习得的理据是: 人们所掌握的母语词汇太多了，是不可能完 全通过直接词汇教学获得的(Nagy etal 1985;Stembe笔1987;N娜1997)。据保守 估计，英语本族语者高中毕业时就知道20， 创犯词族(word familv)，相当于32，000词项 (lexieal item)(Nation 1990)… | | |  推荐 CAJ下载  PDF下载 | | | CAJViewer7.0阅读器支持所有CNKI文件格式，AdobeReader仅支持PDF格式 | | | | On the ways of EFL vocabulary acquisition | | | Xun Ming | | | The present study first describes some basic assumptions underlying the claim that "reading is the major source of vocabulary acquisition" in an L2: the 'noticing' assumption, the 'guessing ability' assumption, the ' guessing-retention link' assumption, and the ' cumulative gain' assumption; then it presents some studies that criticized the four basic assumptions; it finally reviews some empirical studies that compared vocabulary gains from reading with gains from "reading plus" tasks and word-focused tasks. The study ends with a conclusion that pure reading cannot be the major source of L2 vocabulary acquisition, and that word-focused tasks, supplemented with reading or not, play a very important role.
