Findings indicate that after one semester of self-access learning and learner training activities, participants underwent positive attitudinal and behavioral changes in autonomous English learning. However, they still had a high expectation of the teacher's role at the planning stage and would prefer the teacher to keep authoritative demands. It was also found that their behavioral changes lagged behind their attitudinal improvement due to failure of applying metacognitive strategies to other language areas, the practice of formulating vague goals at the planning stage, and the tendency to avoid checking the plan afterwards at the monitoring and assessment stage. 【Keyword】:autonomous learning;attitudinal and behavioral changes |
