| | | | | “歧义容忍度”影响英语学习对课堂英语教学的启迪 | | | 殷燕 | | | 英语的句法、词汇、语音与汉语大相径庭,中国学习者不可避免地会遇上语言歧义模糊现象。本文旨在探索如何优化有着不同歧义容忍度的学生的课堂英语教学。文章首先探究了学生歧义容忍度的高低会影响学生英语成绩、课堂表现及英语课堂教学的效果,分析结果表明学生歧义容忍度的高低与学生英语水平高低基本上成正比;接着,文章有针对性地提出了比较可行的解决措施和方法,并列举英语教师对歧义容忍度低的学生的一些具体补偿技巧,以达到提高课堂英语教学效果的目的。

一、引言能讲一口流利的英语是许多学生梦寐以求的事情。学得顺畅时,英语学习是件有趣且能给人带来极大满足感的有意义的学习活动,但是不顺利时,又会让学习者感到极其不安和焦虑。造成这种不安和焦虑的一个较重要的原因便是“语言歧义”(lan guageambiguity)。比如,不少学生曾告诉我:在课堂上讲英语时,他们经常因不太确定用哪种时态而结结巴巴、犹犹豫豫,甚至不愿发言;在作文时,他们查了一两部词典却发现有两三个或更多的同义词可用,结果不知用哪一个才是正确;在发音时,他们往往对自己发音的正确性产生怀疑;在听英语时,他们遇到的含混现象更… | | |  推荐 CAJ下载  PDF下载 | | | CAJViewer7.0阅读器支持所有CNKI文件格式，AdobeReader仅支持PDF格式 | | | | Tolerance of ambiguity among college students: Implications for teaching English in class | | | Yin Yan | | | This study was designed to investigate how to teach college students who differed in the degree of tolerance of ambiguity in English class. With this goal, the present article attempts to explore whether or not a low degree of tolerance of ambiguity interferes with the performance of EFL teaching in class and how a low degree of tolerance of ambiguity is related to students' English proficiency. Results show that the degree of tolerance of ambiguity affected students' performance in English class and the influence varied with English proficiency. Finally, the article suggests that tolerance of ambiguity should be considered as an important factor for the low proficient students in foreign language learning and that some effective measures should be included to diminish students' tolerance of uncertainty in an EFL teaching class.
