With this goal, the present article attempts to explore whether or not a low degree of tolerance of ambiguity interferes with the performance of EFL teaching in class and how a low degree of tolerance of ambiguity is related to students' English proficiency. Results show that the degree of tolerance of ambiguity affected students' performance in English class and the influence varied with English proficiency. Finally, the article suggests that tolerance of ambiguity should be considered as an important factor for the low proficient students in foreign language learning and that some effective measures should be included to diminish students' tolerance of uncertainty in an EFL teaching class. 【Keyword】:tolerance of ambiguity;individual difference;intuition |
