| | | | | 非英语专业本科生英语作文选词策略 | | | 何旭良 | | | 本文从选词策略方面探讨我国非英语专业学生用英语写作时 ,为解决词汇方面的问题所采用的种种策略以及这些策略的运用对他们的英语作文词汇特点的影响。通过错误分析和问卷调查 ,发现非英语专业本科生在完成基础阶段英语学习之后 ,大纲上要求掌握的四级词汇在英语作文中出现频率偏低 ;学生通常采用避免、心译、换个说法、语言迁移、造词、保留以前记忆中的语块等策略进行选词 ,以克服词汇方面的困难。这些策略的运用使得英语作文的词汇量偏少 ,并存在大量的语内、语际迁移错误 ;在使用这些策略时 ,学生很少考虑到英语写作的文体风格

Methods of Error Analysis (EA) and questionnaire are adopted for the investigation. The author finds that very few CET4 words at college level appear in the students' compositions and the errors are caused not only by their low English proficiency but also by their strategy uses to select words in writing. The strategies involved are mainly avoidance, mental translation, paraphrase, transfers, coinage, and retention of some linguistic chunks. These strategies lead to three diction characteristics in their compositions. Firstly, the students' vocabulary size for writing is very small, and they cannot use many words they have learned at college. Secondly, there are lots of negative transfers in their compositions. Thirdly, they pay little attention to the writing styles when employing the strategies to select words in their writing.
