It has been a hot research subject, and studied from diverse aspects since its birth. Both its merits and demerits have been structured. This paper, based on the full analysis and synthesis of all the findings of the researchers, concludes that all questions about College English Test Band 4/6 are derived from improper insights into its goal as well as inappropriate managements of teaching; College English Test Band 4/6 is not to blame. With its prestigious achievements and social reputation, it is justified for it to be maintained instead of being abandoned.
