These challenges include; 1. social and economic development has been demanding more on college students' English proficiency, while the current college English teaching is still far from being satisfactory; 2. the qualities of college English teachers, especially their research ability, knowledge composition and English level cannot meet the current requirements. The author then puts forward his own suggestions on solving these problems.
