Can we find any effective means for solving the problem? These questions, for the past decades, have been the constant concern of many scholars. However, even today the problem seems to defy all attempts at solution. The author of this paper, from the perspective of a translation teacher, argues that the root cause lies in the failure of our translation education. Such failure could stem from people's general misunderstanding of translation and/or the translator's undue faith in the source text.
