Such a classification reflects not only the different views people hold on translation, but also the multi-facet nature of translation. First, translation does require good techniques of interlingual transference, which some people consider as low level "blue-collar work"; Second, different types of texts requires different degrees of creativity on the translator in the process of translation; third, different groups of readers with different backgrounds are bound to respond differently to even the same translation; lastly, the whole process of decoding and encoding in translation is necessarily constrained by interior as well as exterior linguistic factors and laws. In a nutshell, translation is like a skyscraper, a product resulting from construction workers' skilled labor and unique artistic design of an architect. 【Keyword】:nature of translation views multiple-facetness |
