| | | | | 文物翻译的“达”与“信” | | | 刘庆元 | | | 基于有些文物翻译中,存在忽视这一特殊文体的特性,过于强调译文的“信”,从而影响其可读性的一事实,本文通过对湖南省博物馆文物翻译中的几处较典型误译的分析,指出:在处理文物翻译这种特殊的文体时,如果“信”与“达”矛盾时,译者应遵守“达”为先的原则,才能达到最佳的译文效果。

一翻译实践证明,“信达雅”三字经并不能令人信服地解释现有译事中的新现象,如在越来越多的实用性文本翻译中,译者更多地关注译文的“达”。钱绍昌教授(2000)指出:“在影视翻译中,‘信、达、雅’三原则恐怕以‘达’最为重要。为了‘达’,有时不得不略微牺牲一点‘信’。”尽管钱先生所谈的并非本文讨论的文物翻译,但它们是有共性的,即都属于实用性文体翻译。故本文认为文物翻译中,如果“信”和“达”出现矛盾时,即在求“信”的过程中,有可能出现“不达”的情况下,追求译文的“达”更为重要。文物翻译是一种信息文体(informativetext),翻译时… | | |  推荐 CAJ下载  PDF下载 | | | CAJViewer7.0阅读器支持所有CNKI文件格式，AdobeReader仅支持PDF格式 | | | | Translating Names of Cultural Relics: Expressiveness vs. Faithfulness | | | LIU Qingyuan | | | Faithfulness has been unduly overemphasized in the translation of names of cultural relics, which has often resulted in poor readability of the translations in the target language. This paper makes an analysis of typical mistakes in the translation of names of the cultural relics displayed at Hunan Provincial Museum and concludes that expressiveness should be prioritized over faithfulness to ensure fluency of translation in addition to a clear transference of meaning.
