In addition, the authors proposes that the addoption of the two approaches from the two schools is the vital reason underlying the deeper development of the study of classical phonetics in the Qing Dynasty (清). Archaeoloqical approach is of inductive quality, while that of the phonetic examination is of deductive character. To sum up, the inductive and the deductive approachs are in a state of unity and opposition, so we should make use of them in a unity way in all spheres of study.
