The passage then provides its translation by James Legge which is the most frequently cited and used in the western academic circles and takes specific examples to analyze the characteristics of James Legge's edition which are noticeable long preface, faithful rigorous translation and exhaustive thorough notes. Finally the author proposes two questions of the translation and summarizes contributions of James Legge′s translation.
