1.引言本文主要介绍元话语(metadiscourse)的范围和分类。我们先来看一下前人对元话语的定义。Williams(1981:211-2)认为,元话语是“有关话语的话语,跟主题无关”。Hyland(1998:437-8)认为,元话语指的是话语的组织、作者对话语内容的看法、预测读者态度等体现篇章各种特征的一套机制。Hyland和Tse(2004:157)认为,对元话语的理解有狭义和广义之分,狭义的观点是,强调元话语的组织篇章的功能;广义的观点是,元话语体现了作者在篇章中所表现出来的运用语言和修辞的方法,以及把话语组织和话语含义结合起来的方法。Vande Kopple(1985:83)认为,元… | | |  推荐 CAJ下载  PDF下载 | | | CAJViewer7.0阅读器支持所有CNKI文件格式，AdobeReader仅支持PDF格式 | | | | On metadiscourse | | | XU Jiujiu | | | This paper deals with metadiscourse, focusing on issues such as the definition, scope, classification of metadiscourse as well as research methodology. Metadiscourse is a language usage which provides functions such as organizing discourse, expressing writers' viewpoints, and channeling readers' responses. Drawing on the current research, the author divides metadiscourse into lexical, punctuational and visual types, and discusses the characteristics of each type. The author also takes up some controversial issues in lexical metadiscourse such as reference to the topics, classification and functions.
