| | | | | 莫里森的小说和现代悲剧精神 | | | 肖霞 | | | 美国非裔作家托尼·莫里森以她丰富的想像力创造了一个富有感染力的小说世界。在优美动人的语言和貌似繁复零乱的叙事的掩盖下,莫里森的小说世界借以打动读者的本质内容还是对人的悲剧处境和寻求自我的努力的描写。她从摹写同胞们的悲剧生态入手来反思历史,揭露历史的残酷和不合理,然后又走入现实,在宿命论和神秘力量之外发现本民族新的生存内涵和生存意义。由于这一点既与悲剧文学传统息息相关又和现代文化大背景所体现的迷茫和探索的主题相契合,所以使小说表现出强烈的现代悲剧精神,达到了艺术幻想和哲学思辨融于一体的境界。

The essential concern of that world is not the poetic language and superficial skills but the black people's tragic existence and their never ceasing efforts in the self-defining process. The writer starts with the tragic historical lives of her people and thereby attempts to discover new significance of their existence in the modern world. While conforming to the Greek tradition of tragedy, the main spirit of the novels tallies with the modern cultural background as well. The best conveyed information of Morrison's novels therefore is no other than that modern tragic spirit.
