| | | | | 科技英语的文体特征 | | | 何小阳 | | | 科技英语作为一种功能语体是在普通英语的基础上发展起来的。因而无论在词汇方面,还是在语法方面,它同基础英语没有绝对的界限。但是在语言发展的长期过程中,其独特的活动形式使之在语言方面形成了许多其他语言变体所没有的特点。采用现代文体学理论,从字位、词汇、句法/语法、语境四个层面对科技英语的文体特征进行分析,定会对科技英语的阅读理解,写作与翻译提供某些启示,对进一步推广和发展科技英语具有十分重大的意义。

引 言 言语随情景的变化,从而产生各种言语变体,简称语体(variety)。语体学已成为现代文体学的一个重要组成部分,科技英语作为一种功能语体更是一直倍受文体学家的重视。 本文从两个角度对所选6篇科技英语的范文进行文体分析:语言描述和语境因素分析。在语言描述中,我们采用文体标记系统给语言特征分类。根据Enkvist & Spenser (1964),文体标记就是突出的文体特征。在某一语境中具有文体意义的语言项目都可被认为是文体标记。这与功能文体学的“突出”概念一致。系统功能语言学的创始人韩礼德认为突出是语言显耀的统称,是语篇的某… | | |  推荐 CAJ下载  PDF下载 | | | CAJViewer7.0阅读器支持所有CNKI文件格式，AdobeReader仅支持PDF格式 | | | | Stylistic Features of English for Science and Technology | | | HE Xiao-yang (Dept. of Foreign Language and International Trade Hunan Institute of Engineering;Xiangtan;411104;China) | | | As a functional type of writing (style), English for Science and Technology is developed on the basis of General English. Therefore, whether in vocabulary or in grammar, it has no absolute bounds from Essential English. But in the long process of the development of the language, its unique communicative form generates some unique linguistic features which can hardly be found in other variants of English. Yet, to analyze its linguistic features from the point of view of stylistics is still a new realm. Adopting the theories of modern stylistics, this paper analyzes the English used in English for Science and Technology from four levels: graphology; lexicon; syntax/grammar and context. It抯 certain that the study of these distinctive features will shed some light upon English for Science and Technology reading comprehension, writing and translation and will be very significant to the further development of English for Science and Technology.
