| | | | | 论《土生子》中的新黑人艺术形象 | | | 范桂兰 | | | 《土生子》是美国黑人文学家理查德·赖特(1908—1960年)的代表作。此书之所以在美国文学或美国黑人文学中具有重要地位,一方面是由于这部小说主题的重大社会历史意义,即它以现实主义的方法揭露了美国社会存在的种族歧视和阶级压迫的严酷现实,另一方面就在于它成功塑造了"土生子"即小说主人公别格·托马斯这个黑人反抗、犯罪少年的典型艺术形象。黑人反抗、犯罪少年,这就是小说主人公别格这一艺术典型形象的根本特征,它体现了新一代黑人对种族歧视与阶级压迫的不满、反抗和斗争。它是对新一代黑人或者说是潜伏着的黑人民族性格的深刻揭示。
