| | | | | 论英语名词所有格的意义及用法 | | | 韩武微 | | | 英语名词在句中表示所有或其它关系时,名词采用所有格形式。英语名词所有格有两种:一种是屈折形式即-s所有格,另一种是介词词组形式即Of-所有格。-S所有格表示的意义有:所有、主谓、动宾、主补、主宾和描述六种关系。而Of-所有格表示的意义有:所有、同位、主谓、动宾、主补、主宾、比喻、描述、部分和整体、份量和种类、材料成份等十一种关系。这两种所有格有各自必须单独使用的场合,也有可互换使用的场合。此外,还可将这两种所有格兼用,做后置定语称作双重所有格。双重所有格表示的意义比较灵活,可表达感情色彩也可表示部分概念。

There are two types: S-Genitive and Of-Genitive. The meanings of S-Genitive can be possession, subject to predicate, verb to object, subject complement, subject to object and description, while the meanings of Of-Genitive can be possession, apposition, analogy, part and whole, weight and kinds, materials, altogether eleven different implications. Whether these two types are used separately or exchanged depends on the particular occasion. Besides, the two types can also be used in the form of combination, called Double Genitive, which can convey feelings and express part of sth. Its meaning is rather flexible.
