Exploration into New Techniques of EC Translation by Mao Ronggui falls short of these two requisites to a considerable degree. Based on a relevant analysis of the Exploration, the paper argues that a point should be made of the quality in the compiling of a translation book. In the light of the prosperous publishing of translation textbooks nowadays, such a point carries more weight.
