The urban policy of New Towns was then carried out in 1965 after a seriesof regional studies, which, from the point of regional view, aims at coordinating the urbanizations, restructuring the urban areas, promoting thecoordinated development and enforcing the strength of the region. It may be regarded as the key to the sustained success of Greater Paris in thekeen competition among the international cities.
