Recently the exchanges between Hongkong and the Mainland in the fields of economy,trade and culture have been becoming more and more frequent, which have found their expresssions in language phenomena, such as phonetics,vocabulary and grammar,especially in vocabulary. The languages is Hongkong and the Mainland reveal the developing trend of merge in unity, the reasons of which are traced to the following sources:first the contradictions between the vocabulary and social structure caused by the changes of social life; secondly the psychological choice of pragmatics.
