The beginning of the history of Song Dynastic（宋）phonology is marked by investigating the rhymes used by the Song Dynastic（宋）literati and thereby generalising 18 rhyme systems of the then common language. With the closely thorough studying Song Dynastic（宋） Chinese language literature, the classification of the then dialect groups is becoming clear, so are linguistic features of each dialectal district.
