| | | | | 英汉词语的文化内涵及其翻译 | | | 贾德江 | | | 语言具有三大要素:语音、词汇和语法结构。从语言的结构规则来看,词汇是语言的基本要素,也是语言这个庞大系统赖以生存的支柱;从语言的社会功能看,文化差异在词汇层面上往往体现得最为突出,涉及面也最广。本文试图从语言学和跨文化的交际学角度出发,就英汉语言中的词汇空缺现象、词义的联想和文化意象差异以及词语的语义和文化涵义不等值现象进行粗浅的探讨。

From the viewpoint of social functions of a language, cultural distinctions are most prominent and wide_spread at lexical levels. In this paper, the present author has made a sample study of some typical culturally_loaded words and expressions in English Chinese translation on the basis of sociolinguistics and intercultural communication. The main emphasis has been laid on the perception of some culturally_loaded words lacking in lexical counterparts, differences in word_meaning association and cultural images as well as finer distinctions in semantic meanings and word connotations in bilingual translation.
