| | | | | 北京大学与五四运动——兼论北大与教育救国、文化救国思潮的内在联系 | | | 朱成甲 | | | 蔡元培出任北大校长并聘请陈独秀担任文科学长 ,使当时主张教育救国与文化救国的思潮在北大相汇合。北大通过蔡元培的革新与新文化运动 ,迅速出现崭新的面貌 ,而其最主要的则是形成科学民主的校格、健全奋斗的人格、开新向上的学格与个性自觉的群格 ,从而使北大在教育上、思想文化上处于第一提琴手的位置 ,进而在具有划时代历史意义的五四运动中 ,水到渠成地成为中心与主导者。在回顾北大与五四运动关系时 ,注意寻本溯源 ,探讨更为内在的联系 ,对于理解当今科教兴国的战略决策当更有意义。

All these placed Peking University in a leading position in education, ideology and culture. Peking Unviersity thus naturally became the center and leader of May 4 th Movement.
