Sacchi Landriani [2] analysised the Spectral Tau method for the approximation of the Stokes problem on a square with Dirichlet boundary conditions. He gave some convergence estimates under the assumption that the solution of the spectral tau approximation problem of the two-dimensional Stokes problem exists. In this paper, we first prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution of this spectral tau approximation, then improve the error estimates in [2].
